This article has been retracted by the journal. The retraction was made before the article reached its final form in the publication process. However, the authors' accepted manuscript, prior to copy editing, page layout and proofing, was made available online as an Accepted Preprint on 6 October 2015.
The article has been retracted for the following reason:
Concern was raised over the data presented within the paper, as additional studies were identified that demonstrate the absence of the S100P gene within the mouse genome. This indicates that there may be an issue with the antibody used, that it is not identifying what is indicated in the paper. The authors responded to these concerns.
The journal has reviewed the response supplied by the authors and has decided that as the data concerned cannot be substantiated to a satisfactory level, the article should be retracted.
We apologise to our readers.
