Summary.

A characteristic, reversible injury to spermatogenesis was induced by the intraperitoneal injection of S. marcescens endotoxin into rats. Quantitative histological studies of the testes revealed an inhibition of the maturation divisions of spermatocytes. The reversible character of the injury was due to the high degree of resistance of type A spermatogonia.
